Privacy policy and data collection
Plain-language summary of what Counter Counter collects and why.
Who we are
Counter Counter is a tool for pharmacies to count what happens at the counter. It is provided by AMPCS (ampcs.com.au). Each pharmacy decides which of its staff use it and what they count.
What we collect
- Staff names as the pharmacy enters them, and an optional staff photo if the pharmacy adds one. Photos are re-saved at a small size and their hidden camera data (such as location) is removed.
- Counts: each time a staff member taps an activity (a KPI), we record who, which activity, and when. Nothing else about the interaction is recorded.
- Manager and administrator accounts: name, email address, and a password and PIN that are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. We cannot read them.
- Security records: sign-ins, changes made by managers, and failed or blocked attempts, with the time and the device's internet (IP) address. These protect the service and let a pharmacy see who changed what.
- Cookies: only the ones needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms from forgery. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, no analytics, and nothing is loaded from other companies' servers.
What we do not collect
We do not collect any information about customers or patients: no names, prescriptions, health details or contact details. Please do not enter any into names or activity titles.
How it is used
Only to show a pharmacy its own totals, reports and exports, to roll up figures across the stores a company manages, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell the data or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
A pharmacy's tablet sees only its own store. Managers see only the stores they have been given. Platform administrators can see all stores in order to run the service.
Where it is kept and for how long
- Data is stored on servers in Australia. Backups are encrypted and kept for about 35 days.
- Counts and staff records are kept while the pharmacy uses the service, so that history stays available. Staff and activities are archived rather than erased.
- Security records are kept for two years, then moved to a secure archive.
- Sign-in sessions expire automatically.
Your choices
To ask what is held about you, to correct it, or to have it removed, please speak to your pharmacy manager or contact AMPCS at ampcs.com.au. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
